Vogliamo ricordare un pezzo dei Pink Floyd che a nostro avviso è uno dei pezzi più sottostimati della leggendaria band. Parliamo del capolavoro Cymbaline , pubblicata nel 1969 nell’album Soundtrack from the Film More. Il testo narra di un uomo che, preda di un incubo, sogna di non riuscire più a trovare la sua amata, Cymbaline. Questa fu la prima esperienza del gruppo con una colonna sonora ma importantissimo ricordare che fu anche il primo disco del gruppo senza Syd Barrett, allontanato dal gruppo all’inizio del 1968 durante le registrazioni del precedente lavoro e senza il quale nulla sarebbe successo ma con il quale nulla poteva continuare. L’album raggiunse il 9º posto nel Regno Unito e il 153° negli Stati Uniti.
La registrazione della canzone presente nell’album è una versione diversa da quella che si trova nel film.
Una perla rara.
